Chapter 1: Kinds of Blogging

Reading Jill Walker Rettberg’s book, “Blogging: Digital Media and Society Series,” chapter 1 we as readers learned that there are three different type of blogs. Personal blogs, Topic-driven blogs, and filter blogs. Each of these blogs have all evolved very much over time into what they are today. Blogs first started out as diaries, or digital diaries for better use of words. My assignment for class was to take a look at these three different types of blogs out there, and analyze them through annotations of what the blog is made up of.

Personal Blogs: present slices of the author’s life, episodes and anecdotes that give readers  a strong feeling of knowing their blogger, but that also keep many secrets.
